Wake me up, September is almost over!

So, I haven't really been blogging as much as I have promised myself I would. Next month I'm going to try to blog every day for the entire month. I joined NaBloPoMo, which should be interesting. Hopefully this will prepare me for NaNoWriMo, which is in November and means I will be writing every day for two months!

Short blog post, but only because I want to save everything for the upcoming month.

cleany times

It's that time of the year again... flu season! Yuck! Oh well, I'm not doing as bad as I could be, I'm taking medicine, drinking ginger ale and relaxing as much as I can.

Anyways, it's only five days until Summer ends and Fall officially starts. It's pretty exciting, but I can't expect much of a change in weather for a while since I live in Texas. Instead of Spring cleaning, I'm doing Fall cleaning. This means all the stuff I don't use has to either start being used or I'm getting rid of it. I'm selling some things on Craigslist... I just sold my bass yesterday! Most of the stuff is probably going to go to Goodwill, but I may also have another garage sale soonish. This also means I have to take on massive amounts of boxes in my garage for the millionth time. I'm hoping this will be the last time. I'm tired of having so much stuff that is doing nothing but sit there. So most will be sold/donated so these things don't have to be sad and lonely anymore.

I just have one thing that I have yet to figure out. What am I going to do with my huge Lion King collection? I mean, it's pretty big... about 3 buckets and at least one other box full. I'm really not using this stuff, but I still feel sad when I think about selling it. Should I try using everything? Should I just get over it and sell it? Should I just keep it there until I have a place of my own which then can be decorated fully in Lion King? I don't know, so I will just leave that to be the last thing for me to figure out.

Speaking of The Lion King, I will be seeing it Tuesday for the first time ever in theaters. I am extremely excited, probably more than I should be since I'm 21... but whatever. It's going to be awesome.

Collected quotes

I have been writing down good quotes and conversations on my phone recently whenever they happen. Here are some I've collected...

"Forget naked ladies, let's look at cats and dragons!!"
This one is from my friend Zoe. While at ArmadilloCon, we were looking at the art gallery. There was a collection of art with naked anime style ladies and we really didn't like them, but next to it was paintings of CATS AND DRAGONS. Those caught our eye and we quickly moved on.

"I like horny pegasus!"
Zoe and I were trying to figure out if you would call it a unicorn with wings or a pegasus with a horn. So we decided to ask some guys from Austin Books and Comics. One guy yelled out, "I like horny pegasus!" It kind of stuck.

"I wanna touch that, can you guard me??" -Me, repeating something Zoe said not even 20 seconds earlier.
"Who said that?" -Zoe
"YOU!" - Me
Some people had to get by us within that 20 seconds, so we had to move from the tiny fountain Zoe was about to touch and that's how this started.

"Surprise sex"
Zoe and I figured that this is what you would call it if somebody broke in to your house to rape you and you ended up enjoying it, because it really couldn't be called rape anymore. These are the things you think of when you have had very little sleep.

"People who start thinking pugs are attractive actually want kids."
I overheard this. There were about 5 other people sitting at the table with the guy who said this and every one of them agreed.

"You drink your coffee black? You have bigger balls than me. That's a compliment by the way."
A lady said this to me as I was getting coffee in the hotel. It made me laugh because she said it in such a serious tone. Same lady popped in earlier that day while I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom and asked if she looked, "sluttish" for wearing a tank top.

"Do you read?" -author man
"I know HOW to read." -me
This guy was really drunk and kept having to tell me he was a famous author.

"I could change you into a dog. Do you want me to?" -6 year old niece
"No, not really." -me
"What do you want to be?" -niece
"Alone." -me
"What? Is that even a real word?" -niece
I just kind of had to stare for a while because it was really confusing that she asked me if it was a real word, then I just started laughing.

I think those were some pretty good quotes from the past week. I think I will continue to keep writing things like that down in my phone. There were about a million more that Zoe and I had that we completely forgot about writing down. Plus we usually forget what we had just said within about 5 minutes because we always move on and talk about something else.

Another one!

I have finally closed my other blogs that have been inactive for a very long time and am going to be using this one from now on. I thought it would be good to get back in to writing more often. I do write in my notebooks nearly every day, but I would like to do something more public. Plus, NaNoWriMo is less than two months away now and I would really like to finish it this year. My previous attempts have been, well, bad. Usually I get too busy, forget, or start to lose interest. This time I seem to have a pretty good idea of what I'm going to write.

This month I plan on putting some more stuff up on YouTube. I have been tossing around the idea of a vlog for a while now. The first time I tried to do a vlog (a little over two years ago) didn't work out so well. The reason it didn't work was because I tried to film it in a park and things started to go wrong. First, the camera wasn't set up right and it got a little bit windy. I had to mess with the settings a while and try getting it to work and to stay there. It also wasn't a very good camera. Then when I started talking, a hobo appeared from across the park and he started staring at me. My neighborhood really doesn't have homeless people hanging around, so it was interesting that he was there. Anyway, he was looking at me like I was crazy. I got a little creeped out that he just kept staring. So I decided it probably wasn't a good area to try this and I got up. Well, as soon as I got up it started raining. I ended up getting a ride home and when I got there I wasn't really ready to try again... and I haven't thought about it too much since. I started thinking about doing it again recently, so I will make my second attempt soon.

Anyway, I'm going to try posting here at least a few times a week!
